Post-operative observations
Vital signs, pain levels, nausea, temperature and general wellbeing are assessed at each visit to build a clear picture of your recovery trajectory and identify any early concerns.
Our approach
Every visit is guided by clinical nursing practice, a genuine respect for your comfort, and a clear understanding of what recovery at home actually involves.
Philosophy
Post-operative recovery is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Your procedure, your body, your home environment and your support network are all individual — and the care you receive should reflect that.
Comfort Through Care was built on the belief that people recovering from cosmetic procedures deserve the same attentive, professional nursing care as any other post-operative patient. That means clinical rigour, clear communication and a calm, unhurried presence — not a rushed check-in.
Amelia's approach is shaped by years of acute, critical and community nursing: the ability to notice what matters, to act when something needs attention, and to offer genuine reassurance when everything is on track.
Clinical care
Each visit is conducted in line with professional nursing standards. The care provided is comprehensive — covering clinical assessment, hands-on wound care, practical support and clear communication throughout your recovery.
Vital signs, pain levels, nausea, temperature and general wellbeing are assessed at each visit to build a clear picture of your recovery trajectory and identify any early concerns.
Wounds are assessed for signs of infection, dehiscence, haematoma or unexpected change. Cleaning is performed using appropriate aseptic non-touch technique, antibiotic ointment applied where indicated, and dressings changed in line with your surgeon's instructions.
Surgical drains are monitored for output volume, colour and patency at each visit. Guidance is provided on drain care, emptying and what to watch for between visits.
Correct compression garment fitting and wear guidance is provided, with adjustments made as swelling changes through recovery. Proper wear is important for healing and shaping outcomes.
Prescribed medications are administered where required, including oral analgesia, anti-nausea medication and antibiotics. Guidance is provided on timing, dosage and what to expect.
If anything observed during a visit warrants your surgeon's attention, Amelia will support clear, timely escalation — so nothing is left to chance and your treating team is kept informed.
Swelling and bruising patterns are monitored and explained at each visit. Guidance on positioning, elevation and gentle movement is provided to support lymphatic drainage and reduce discomfort.
Safe movement, positioning for sleep and rest, and activity restrictions are discussed and reinforced throughout recovery — reducing the risk of complications and supporting comfort.
Guidance on eating, drinking and managing nausea in the early post-operative period is provided, with practical suggestions tailored to your procedure and how you are feeling.
As wounds close, guidance on scar management — including moisturising, sun protection is provided. Skin changes are monitored and noted at each visit.
Recovery can feel isolating and uncertain. Amelia's role includes honest, calm communication — answering your questions, normalising what you are experiencing and helping you feel informed and supported.
All care is delivered in line with your surgeon's post-operative instructions. Where there are gaps, questions or concerns, Amelia will liaise with your treating team to ensure continuity of care.
Tell us about your procedure and we will discuss the most appropriate level of support and available dates.
